Privacy & Cookie Policy
This policy explains what information Andean Kitchen ("we", "us", "this site") collects when you visit andeankitchen.com, how it is used, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain language on purpose.
1. Who we are
Andean Kitchen is an independent recipe publication operated from Junín, Peru. You can reach us at hello@andeankitchen.com for any privacy-related question or request.
2. Information we collect
We do not require accounts and we do not ask you to register. The information processed when you use this site is limited to:
- Usage data. Standard technical information sent by your browser, such as pages visited, approximate location (country/city level), device and browser type, and referring page. This is collected through analytics tools in aggregated form.
- Contact information. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply and we do not add you to any mailing list.
- Recipe comments. Each recipe has a form where you can tell us how the dish turned out. It sends us the name you type, your comment, which recipe it was about, and your email address if you choose to leave one. The form is handled on our own server and the message reaches us as an email — no comment service or third party is involved. Nothing you send appears on the site automatically. If we would like to publish your comment on the recipe, we publish the first name you gave and the text you wrote, never your email address, and you can ask us to remove it at any time by writing to hello@andeankitchen.com.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. This site uses, or may use, the following categories:
- Strictly necessary. A small preference stored in your browser to remember that you have seen our cookie notice.
- Analytics. Cookies used by analytics services (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site, in aggregate. These help us see which recipes are useful and which need improvement.
- Advertising. This site may display advertising served by third parties, including Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
4. Your advertising choices
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
Where things stand today. This site does not yet display advertising. At present the only non-essential cookies in use are analytics cookies, and these are set when a page loads. Before any advertising is introduced, we will put a consent management platform in place so that visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for their choice before advertising or other non-essential cookies are set, as required by applicable law. You can refuse or delete cookies at any time through your browser — see section 5.
5. How to control cookies
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Doing so will not break this site — recipes remain fully readable without any cookies at all.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Usage data is processed by the analytics and advertising providers named above under their own privacy policies. We share information beyond that only if required by law.
7. Data retention
Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to handle your message. Aggregated analytics data is retained according to the retention settings of the analytics provider, which we keep at the shortest practical period.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@andeankitchen.com and we will respond within 30 days.
9. Children
This site is a general-audience cooking publication and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes — such as introducing a new category of data collection — will be noted clearly on the homepage.
